Bravos Cafe

Bravos Cafe began its journey in 1980, born out of a love for authentic Jamaican soul food and Caribbean hospitality. Our founder envisioned a place where community, flavor, and tradition unite. Over the years, we’ve cultivated a loyal customer base by serving fresh, well-seasoned dishes made from family recipes handed down through generations. From the first sip of our Caribbean coffee to the last bite of our corn bread, every dish is crafted with attention and love. Our owner, a proud Black entrepreneur, strives to celebrate Afro-Caribbean culture through cuisine, ensuring each dish offers an authentic experience.

Our kitchen uses fresh ingredients, and our cooking reflects a commitment to quality and flavor. We’ve become an integral part of East Orange’s food scene—where every visit feels like coming home. We prioritize customer satisfaction and community connection, making sure every guest leaves satisfied and eager to return.

This is a small place in east orange. The owner is amazing and her food is an experience: I usually get the fish with Mac and Cheese. Will recommend if you are in the area. You should call. Takes a while for food to be ready but is worth the wait. Get for soul food lovers!

I orded the Asian chicken wings, chicken patty and cheeseburger. These are the best wings I ever had! Well seasoned and the sauced is delicious and not overpowering. The cheese burger was big and juicy. I will order again and again.

I had the pleasure of meeting the owners and I must say there’s a reason they are open for so long 42 years!!! I ordered a mini jerk chicken and it was delicious! I love spicy food and it had just the right amount of spice to it. Come eat here you won’t regret it

Bravo's cafe is a rare gem! I've had the pleasure of ordering from this restaurant twice and was more than happy both times. The food is fresh, well seasoned, and very delicious. Smaller restaurants like these don't get the credit they deserve. Thank you very much to the chefs. Please visit you wont be disappointed. **PS...I ordered the large fried whiting, collard greens, yams, mac & cheese, and corn bread! It was so so good.

My husband took me there after he had experienced their amazing or to quote him "to die for" wings. Mind you he's never used that term before and I've forbidden him to use it again, but...after tasting the--made with love--wings from scratch I have to agree. The cook/chef is originally from Alabama and can "BURN". Oh my goodness her wings were GREAT! I couldn't have the original battered recipe and she made a batter-less version for me, that still had the sauce my husband loved. It was so good we went back the next night for Jerk Chicken, Collard Greens and Yams. YUMMY! Eating her Jerk Chicken, you'd swear she was from Jamaica or had studied at a relative's knee. That woman and her food are phenomenal! So yeah, if you're ever in East Orange and want down home or island cooking made with love--this IS the place.

Loving couple making soul food magic in EO. Prices and portions are reasonable. I got the large whiting sandwich, and I had them put the tarter sauce and hot sauce on the sandwich. If you would prefer it on the side, tell them when you order😍
